New Mexico C.A.R.E.S: An Animal Cruelty Investigation Workshop

This free, two-day hands-on workshop is open to law enforcement, prosecutors, veterinarians, and rescue and sheltering organizations and is aimed at raising awareness about animal cruelty, forging key partnerships, and empowering participants to mitigate and prevent cruelty in their communities. Attendees will work through a case from start to finish, learning and practicing key skills in investigation, seizure, evidence documentation, testimony, disposition, sheltering, care, and animal placement.
In addition to learning how best to navigate the complexities of animal-related cases, attendees will also establish connections with local and other resources to help foster community collaboration to prevent cruelty before it starts.
Continuing education (CE) credits will be available
Limited funds may be available to assist some attendees who live more than 75 miles from Albuquerque with travel expenses.
